"Zipp Express started as a courier business. All we did was provide courier services; so we did car and van courier business services for local companies here in St. Louis.

Over time, that business expanded. My dad, who originally was the owner of Zipp all those years ago, started doing acquisitions. And he acquired a number of different companies over probably 15 years.

The company has evolved over time from being a courier service to a final mile delivery service and more. We do recovery services, we do HAZMAT services, we do pharmaceutical or medical delivery services. We are an outsourced delivery arm for some of our customers. We do a lot of expedited delivery services.

I would say we have probably 40 straight trucks in the St. Louis region. And so anytime that we have customers who say, Hey, I need a hotshot delivery from A to B, we're a lot of times the go-to resource for that. I had a person I was just talking with the other day who characterized Zipp as being the problem solver of the St. Louis region.

So if people have a problem with delivery services, they know that they can contact Zipp, and we'll likely be able to get it done. And many of the staff members here say, if we can get it in a truck or we can get it in a car, we can deliver it. No job too big or too small.

The culture of Zipp Express has always been very family-oriented and is customer-first. Service, to me, is the key most important thing that we can do as a service-related business, and forming relationships with people and treating people like family, that's the most important thing.

For Zipp, we have less touch points than lots of other delivery services. If you look at our courier service and you compare what Zipp would do in relation to maybe a national delivery service, we don't have a lot of hubs. We don't have a lot of extra touches that go into a delivery service. If somebody says, Hey, come and pick something up from point A and take it to point B, it's really passing hands with just that one driver unless it was a request to have more than one person on the job. But it's really just being touched by those individuals. And we take a lot of pride in who we hire and who works for team.

And so we've had a lot of long-term dedicated drivers that work for us, either internal drivers that are employees to the company or contracted drivers that work as part of our team. And I think just having that relationship with them and them understanding the culture of Zipp and knowing who we are that extends out even from our operation into the hands of our drivers when they do deliveries for our customers. A lot of the stories to me, they're all the individuals the little things that happen in the day to day. The time that Phil was telling me that we had a pharmacy delivery that had to be made in a really short amount of time, and we didn't have a courier driver that was available. So he said, "I got in my car and I did it."

And so we have those kinds of stories happening on a daily basis, I think, with our customers, because our customers call up with a problem and our team goes to work and says, How can we solve it? And they are very hard working, very dedicated people that will just go the extra mile for our clients every time.

I love our staff. I love our drivers. We've got just an amazing group of people that work for this organization. They are Zipp"
